During the 1990's, Bitmac Limited decided on a policy of diversification of their manufacturing activities, away from purely road surface construction.  This led the Bitmac Group to construct and to launch their own manufacturing plant for Expanded Polystyrene with the support of Italian technologists.  EPS products are marketed under the brand name of BX Jablo.

BX Jablo has always served the construction industry with sheets and blocks of a pre-determined density of Expanded Polystyrene (EPS), which not only provide thermal insulation, but also actually add structural strength to the roof, thereby allowing less concrete to be used in the roof construction itself.  This system, known as Predal, is being used in large projects, notably that of the new Mater Dei Hospital at Tal-Qroqq.

Sheets of EPS are also used underneath roof screeds and behind wall panelling to thermally insulate a building and to save on air conditioning costs.  This has led to EPS being successfully manufactured and used to insulate hotels, villas and private houses under construction.

Contractors utilise BX Jablo's good quality EPS filler to manufacture light-weight concrete.

EPS soffit tiles can be used as is or can be painted or plastered to complement the décor.

The ever expanding requirements of contractors, designers, architects and industrialists have kept BX Jablo's full time staff on their toes to meet and to exceed what is expected of them.

BX Jablo is now moving to address other insulation requirements based on mineral and rock wool which are known for their outstanding fire resistance.
