Mainly used as a filler in bean bags, sofas or cushions, come Christmas time, the recycled material is often used in display units as fake snow. In the construction business this material is also used as an aditive to concrete in the making of lightweight concrete.

Imperteq Pro is ideal for waterproofing terraces both in concrete as well as on bituminous membrane, ensuring waterproof protection. Imperteq Pro is also ideal for vertical walls particularly afflicted by weather conditions as well as tiled balconies and terraces subject to water infiltration and serves as a viable solution in the case where extensive works are deemed unviable.

Imperteq Pro adheres perfectly to all surfaces including plastics and is impervious to water and water vapours maintaining its elasticity over time, efficient in sealing cracks, and can be treaded upon.

Surface Preparation

The surface to be painted must be completely dry and free of any dust or other particles which may hinder adhesion. Any cracks must be filled in with Imperteq Pro using a trowel and left to dry completely prior to painting. Patches using plaster cement need to dry out for at least 28 days prior to painting

Application

Imperteq Pro can be applied using a roller or brush on exposed concrete surfaces, vertical type cement plaster particularly exposed to weather conditions, plaster boards, surfaces covered with bituminous membrane. When applying on horizontal surface Imperteq Pro can be applied as screed in order to increase the overall thickness.

Whenever applied to concrete or plaster surfaces, dilute Imperteq Pro with up to 50% water in order for the product to penetrate deep into the surface. Leave for a few hours until the surface feels dry. A second coat of undiluted Imperteq Pro is applied and left to dry for a few hours after which a third coat can be applied.

It is also possible to apply Geotextile in between the 2nd and 3rd coat in order to improve the surface strength which will improve resistance.

Avoid application of Imperteq Pro if chances of rain are likely in the next 48 hours or if temperatures over 30 Degrees Celsius.
